It’s seven in the morning on a Wednesday, and a small crew of men from Eastman Construction has just finished placing a crane at the end of Water Street, clear of the Water Street Extension. When the purchase of the Ford block was closed for Springbrook, the project of revitalizing what will be the Ford On Main began immediately. In the first phase of construction, Eastman will reinforce the structure by hoisting in laminated veneer lumber (LVL) to secure new flooring and a stairwell to the top floor. The lumber was lifted to a top-floor window in the Ford block and retrieved by other members of the Eastman crew.
